Peter Howarth was born on May 3, 1960 in Blackpool.

Peter Howarth began his career as a guitarist. He studied classical guitar
in his home town of Blackpool. before turning his attention to the electric
guitar, travelling extensively in Britain and abroad as a professional
musician and vocalist. Peter became lead singer of the band Sahara whose
debut album "Observation" was released in France on the Vogue Record Label.
He then decided to make London his home and established himself as one of
the Capital's session singers.
For a number of years now, Peter has worked alongside Cliff Richard, with
whom he has toured the world many times and sung on various albums, singles
and DVD's, the latest being "Castles in the Air" recorded this summer.
Peter's passion for composing took him to Los Angeles to write with Steve
Farris of "Mr Mr" and work with rock bands "Saga" and "Giant".
Back in London, Peter met guitarist/composer Rick Fenn and a new writing
partnership was formed, leading to many happy years writing, performing and
producing material under their band name "Cicle of 4".
A particulaty exciting time for the pair was the writing of the musical
"Robin Prince of Sherwood", which was commissioned and produced by West End
Impresario Bill Kenwright and enjoyed two UK tours, a West End season at
the Piccadilly Theatre and a Christmas season at Playhouse Theatre in
Liverpool. Peter took the role of the Sheriff of Nottingham at the
Piccadilly Theatre and returned there a few years later to play the part of
Roy Orbison in "Only the Lonely", his most rewarding theatrical role to
date. He continued to portray the Big "O" in "The Roy Orbison Story" at the
Whitehall Theatre, also in London's West End, and on two national tours.
A production of "Quadrophenia" with The Who, in Hyde Park and Madison Square
Gardens in New York, was followed by a series of concert with Graham
Gouldman of 10CC.
Peter continues to combine performing with songwriting and has recently
contributed songs for the forthcoming albums of "The Celtic Tenors" and
"Karel Gott".
